Hello America,
Thought:
Democracy depends on dignity, because people show up when they feel respected and disappear when they don’t.
Reflection:
Dignity is not symbolic; it is structural. A nation is stronger when its people feel seen, valued, and respected. When people believe their voice matters, they show up. When they feel dismissed, they withdraw, and withdrawal is where democratic decay begins. Democracy works best when every person believes they belong and have a stake in the nation’s future.
MADA Moment:
On a scale of 1 to 5, how often do you feel that ordinary citizens are treated with Dignity and respect in public life today?
⭐ 1 = Rarely
⭐⭐ 2 = Occasionally
⭐⭐⭐ 3 = Sometimes
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 = Often
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 = Consistently
If your answer is less than a 5, what small act of Dignity could help improve the situation?
In MADA, a snowball is any small act that spreads Decency, Dignity, Honesty, Integrity, or Responsibility.
A conversation is a snowball.
A kind word is a snowball.
A thoughtful response is a snowball.
An act of Dignity is a snowball.
And every avalanche begins with a few snowballs.
Remember, the Spirit of Adventure lightens the load in all that we do.
Thank you,
Bobby Sawick
